AGLAE is an electrostatic tandem type accelerator of 2 million-volt, equipped with two ion sources, one for the production of protons and deuterons, and the other for alpha particles. Two experimental lines are currently operating, one leading to a conventional vacuum chamber and the other where the beam line extracted in the air, specially designed for the direct analysis of artworks without sampling. This line has recently been equipped with a focusing device that reduces the beam size to about 10 microns and thus achieves a nuclear microprobe at atmospheric pressure
