|Momie de Ramsès II|
The mummy of Pharaoh Ramses II was infested with larvae and fungi. Its irradiation was preceded by extensive testing, especially on other mummies, to verify its safety. The operation, now old, took place in 1977. It required transportation from the Cairo Museum to Saclay in France, back and forth, in a sterile bubble, of the mummy, its sarcophagus and its base.
